羽毛球( Badminton)比赛除了决赛那天，都是几块场地同时进行比赛。每块场地的明显位置，会标上场地号( court number)，电视转播场地通常也被j涝jTV court。不少观看比赛的观众进到馆里后要询问：  “What”ill be the next match on TV court?（电视转播场地下一场是什么比赛？）”“Will men，s singles Lin Dan V.S．Lee Chong Wei play in Court one?（男单林丹和李宗伟的比赛在—号场地吗？）”
   

　　提醒大家：中国观众在观赛时误用的说法“od ball!（好球！）”已被广为流传，甚至有以错代正、堂而皇之之势，但还是会被英语国家的人笑话。因为od ball指的是球本身的好坏，并非某个球打得好坏。英语国家的观众观赛时，一般会激动地大叫"Fantastic"、"od shoot”、“Nice”、“Perfect"，或直接用感叹语“Bravo!”“Yell!”如果要喊加油就直呼国名或加上Come on。
   

　　当然，如果中国球迷到哪都喊"od ball”，而且大家都明白其意，没准会影响到英语国家的人，就像“long time no see（还就不见）”一样被接受也是有可能的呢。
   

　　以下是两个观众在观赛时的对话：
 

　　A:Have the quarterfinal ofmen's singles started yet?
 

　　甲：男子单打四分之一决赛开始了吗’
 

　　B No. It should be after this match on court one.
 

　　乙：没有，应该是这场比赛结束后在一号场地进行一
 

　　A.Oh, od! Ilike to watch Chen Jin's playing.I am his fan.

 

　　甲：哦，太好了!我喜欢看陈金打球，我是他的粉丝c
 

　　B:Really? Iprefer to the men's doubles.
 

　　乙：是吗？我喜欢看男双比赛。
 

　　A: Who are your ~avorite player?
 

　　甲：你最喜欢哪个运动员啊？
 

　　B: like to watch the men's double matches, they are so exciting. There are several pairs in the world who are all on top level. You can never imagine who will definitely win the match.
 

　　乙：我喜欢看男双比赛，因为都很刺激啊。世界上有几对选手水平都是一流的，说不准谁一定会赢。
 

　　A: Yes,that's the fascination ofthe sports.
 

　　甲：是的，那就是体育运动的魅力所在。
 

　　B:And the complementary ofthe two,the speed and their smashes and defenses,and sometimes the quick close-up are all fantastic and exciting.
 

　　乙：他们两个人的配合、速度、扣杀以及反击、还有不时地快速封网都那么迷人和刺激。
 

　　A: Yes, that,s tnJe.Butl am only a fledgling andl want to leam more individual skills.
 

　　甲：没错一但我只是一个菜鸟，我想学习个人技术呢。
 

　　B Then men's singles will be the best teacher.
 

　　乙：那么男单就是最好的老师啦。
